Mabel I. Beauchamp

      Mabel I. Beauchamp, 94, of Crawfordsville, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      According to her wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa College of Medicine. Internment of her cremains will be at a later date at the Beauchamp Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to the Camp Courageous fund. Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mrs. Beauchamp was born Sept. 17, 1908 in Winfield, the daughter of Charles and Hazel Gruver DeYarman. She married Rex Beauchamp on May 5, 1933. He died in February of 1973. She was a graduate of Winfield High School, and a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville. She worked for the family business, Crawfordsville Rendering Service, answering the telephone. She enjoyed going to many dances with her son and daughter-in-law.

      Survivors include a son, Jerry and his wife Norma Beauchamp of Crawfordsville; and two grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Bud DeYarman.
