Magdalena Beachy

KALONA - Magdalena Beachy, 84, of Edina, Mo., formerly of Kalona, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, in the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Mo., following a short illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17 in the Sharon Bethel Church in rural Kalona with the Rev. James Swartzentruber, the Rev. Virgil Schrock and the Rev. John Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Iowa Clothing Center Building in rural Kalona. Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mrs. Beachy was born Monday, June 2, 1924 in rural Kalona, the daughter of Edwin and Esther (Miller) Hershberger. She married Jonas Beachy on Dec. 3, 1946 in rural Kalona. He died March 8, 1998.
