Marcella K. Shaull, age 93, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Private family graveside services will be held with Rick Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Ladora Cemetery. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marcella is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Shaull and Stacy (John) Hlavacek; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law Ica Shaull. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, son Kenneth, daughter Rhonda Carlo, two brothers, Edwin and Harlan York, and two sisters Marcella York and Aletha Green.

Marcella York was born November 3, 1930 in Sumner, the daughter of Dale and Bernise York.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Shaull on April 9, 1950 in Millersburg. They enjoyed vacationing in the Smokie Mountains in North Carolina, where they moved following their retirement. Marcella enjoyed having her daily coffee with Kenneth in their sunroom. She loved gardening and could not wait for spring. Marcella would start plants indoors from seedlings and when the time came to gather vegetables from the garden, it was a race to see which one got to pick the first ripe tomato. They loved their home in North Carolina and enjoyed traveling in the surrounding area. Marcella was a loving and caring person to everyone who entered her life. She will be missed dearly by all.
