Marcella L. Snakenberg, 95, of Harper, died Friday, March 15, 2019, at Manor House Care Center in Sigourney.

Marcella was born February 28, 1924, in Harper, to Anton and Anna (Schulte) Herman and graduated from St. Elizabeth High School. On April 27, 1948, she married John Snakenberg in Harper. He passed away on December 16, 1979. The couple lived and farmed in the Harper area for several years.

Survivors include three children: Donna Chambers of Harper, Tony (Kim) Snakenberg of Sigourney and Karen (Tony) Holland of Carlyle, Illinois; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: Richard Snakenberg; son-in-law: Stanley Chambers; four brothers: Elmer, Omer, Howard and Myron Herman and two sisters: Bernadine Van Ogthen and Lorene Herman.

Funeral mass 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. Burial at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Visitation 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
