FAIRFIELD ? Marcelle Marie Lucas, 93, of Fairfield, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, in Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A time to Celebrate Marcelle?s Life will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 28, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fairfield. Burial of cremains will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Packwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Friends of Lake Darling. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Deanna Zillman, 52 W. Mrs. Lucas was born Aug. 18, 1923, the daughter of Ray and Venie (Simmons) Parcell. She married Howard M. Lucas on Jan. 1, 1942, in Kahoka, Missouri.

She and her husband were owners of Howdees Restaurant and Lake Darling Convenience Store. She enjoyed playing cards, country music, camping and fishing at Lake Darling. She was a good cook and enjoyed sharing her hickory nut cakes and cookies to anyone who visited. Her family was very important to her, and she enjoyed spending time with them. In August she celebrated her 93rd birthday at Lake Darling surrounded by family and friends. She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church.

Surviving are four children, Deanna Zillman of Fairfield, Darlene Clark of Pleasantville, Merrill Lucas and wife Sue of Brighton, and Cindy McFarland and husband Jeff of West Des Moines; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Keith Parcell and wife Peggy of Lockridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Venie Parcell; her husband of nearly 70 years, Howard Lucas, on Oct. 16, 2011; two sons-in-law, Don Zillman, and Phil Clark; one grandson; two sisters, Esther, and Lois; and two brothers, Karl, and Glenn.
