Mardelle “Marty” Klein, age 86, of Marengo, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2024, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with Pastor Joseph Blay officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m., until service time at 11:00 a.m., at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Interment will be in the McLaren Resthaven Cemetery, in Des Moines. A memorial fund has been established.

Marty is survived by her husband Robert; two sons, Rick (Lisa) Klein, of Hiawatha, Iowa and Steven “Scoob” Klein, of Marengo, Iowa; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Nye, Andrew (Jill) Klein, Sara Reynolds and Beth Reott; and six great-grandchildren, Connor Barnes, Lydia, Eliza, Mitchell Nye and Hayden and Hendrick Klein. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Jean Warren.

Mardelle Warren was born August 4, 1937, in Osceola, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mamie (West) Warren. She graduated from Corydon High School and continued her education at AIB in Des Moines, Iowa. Marty was employed as a social worker for the Department of Human Services. She was united in marriage to Robert Klein on June 23, 1956, in Corydon, Iowa. The couple moved to Marengo where they spent the majority of their years together. Marty enjoyed boating and being at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Bob and Marty spent their winters in Florida as snowbirds for over 30 years, where she taught aerobics. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was an Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Go Hawks!
