Maria A. Ruth

      KALONA - Maria A. Ruth, 87, of Riverside, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Riverside with the Rev. Rich Adam officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 7 p.m., in the church. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or St. Vincent's Cemetery. Peterseim Funeral Service in Kalona is handling the arrangements.

      Mrs. Ruth was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Riverside, the daughter of Henry and Lena (Hahn) Kron. She married Paul Ruth on Feb. 1, 1944, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
