Marie Buttery

      Marie Buttery, age 88, formerly of Ollie, died Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 21 at the Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie with Pastor Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Burial will follow at the Ollie Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Monday, February 20 at the Fremont Funeral Chapel with family receiving friends between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.

      Eva Marie Buttery was born July 18, 1917 in rural Batavia, Iowa the daughter of Edward Roy Parrett and Rachel Christina Thronson Parrett. She attended school in Batavia and received her teacher's training at Fairfield High School, graduating in 1936. She taught school for two years in Batavia and two years in Ollie.

      On March 5, 1939, she was united in marriage to Albert Buttery at rural Batavia, IA.

      Memorials may be made in her name to Prairie View United Methodist Church or to Alzheimer's Research.
