Marie Elaine Cook

      OSKALOOSA - Marie Elaine Cook, 85, of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, in North Mahaska Nursing and Rehab in Oskaloosa.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20, in the Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Stephen Mathison-Bowie officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today in the funeral chapel where the family will be present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Stephens Memorial Animal Shelter.

      Mrs. Cook was born Oct. 6, 1922, in Wellston, the daughter of Ross A. and Jessie E. (Dodd) Whitacre. She married George Cook on June 30, 1940 in Kahoka, Mo.
