Marie Hughes

Marie Hughes, 95, of Cantril, died at 2:16 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at home.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cantril United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Rekward officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, west of Keosauqua.

Open visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Lebanon Cemetery or Cantril United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at PO Box 157, Cantril 52542.

Mrs. Hughes was born Jan. 11, 1914, near Cantril, the daughter of John and Della Doan Whitcanack. She married Rupert R. Hughes Oct. 23, 1930. He died Jan. 6, 1973.
