MARIE LOWE Wayland, IA Marie Lowe, age 101, of Wayland, Iowa, formerly of Crawfordsville, Iowa, died Monday, October 29, 2018, at the Parkview Home in Wayland, Iowa. Celebration of life services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 at the United Church of Crawfordsville with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Interment will take place at the Crawfordsville Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the United Church of Crawfordsville or the Parkview Home in Wayland. Online condolences may be sent for Marie's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com Helen Marie was born November 3, 1916, in Crawfordsville, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Flo (Keiper) Clark. She attended school in Crawfordsville and graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1935. Marie was united in marriage to Clarence Lyle "Dude" Lowe on November 23, 1935, in Burlington, Iowa. Marie worked at the Crawfordsville Café and later worked as a Teacher's Aide at Crawfordsville Elementary School. She was an active member of the United Church of Crawfordsville, the Washington County Saddle Club, Chapter L of T.T.T., the Sunset Circle Neighborhood Club and the American Legion Auxillary. Marie enjoyed gardening and was a faithful attendee at the Crawfordsville Alumni Banquets. For many years, Marie was the "support staff" at the many horse shows her family participated in. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Basketball fan and listened or watched most of their games serving as the unofficial scorekeeper. Marie is survived by five children: Phyllis Eisele of Washington, Iowa; Mary Fabian of Coralville, Iowa; Linda Alvine and husband Gene of Loveland, Colorado; Donald Lowe and wife Carla of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Larry Lowe and wife Tammy of Crawfordsville, Iowa; ten grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Robert Lowe of Brea, California, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; son-in-law, Lee Eisele; and one sister, Talma Kilpatrick.
