MARILYN LAVAUNE RICHARDS

West Plains, Mo.

Marilyn Lavaune Richards, 71, of West Plains, Missouri, passed away on Dec. 2, 2021, at the Ozark Medical Center in West Plains.

She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Harold and Gwen Richards. She was a graduate of Ottumwa High School and worked at Cooper (Everco) Industries and Ottumwa Regional Hospital. She obtained a degree as a dietary manager specialist at DMAC and was on the Dean's List. She served as a board member on the Wapello County Veterans affairs commission and also drove veterans to the Iowa City VA hospital for appointments. She was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed the VFW and playing bingo. She went on several sponsored Legion and VFW trips to Las Vegas with her good friend Linda Larkin. She joined the Elks club in West Plains, MO, She enjoyed camping, traveling to Florida with family and loved her family and pets. She enjoyed walking and volunteering for the Susan G, Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in Ottumwa.

She is survived by her sisters, Mary (Tim) Schaub of Lehigh Acres, FL, Linda Mortland of West Plains, MO., and Debbie (Bob) VanDerSnick of Mt. Pleasant; and one brother, Ronald (Ginger Juhl) Richards of Mt. Pleasant.

Her parents and a half brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services are pending for a later date.
