Marion 'Griff' Griffin

      BURLINGTON-Marion "Griff" Griffin, 83, of Burlington, died Friday, May 21, 2004, at the home of his son, following a three-month struggle with pancreatic cancer.

      Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at Grace United Methodist Church in Burlington with the Rev. Trevor Davis officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Veteran's Honor Guard VFW Posts 10102, 9162, American Legion Post 52 and the Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League. Visitation is today at Hass Funeral Home in Burlington, where a Masonic service by Des Moines Lodge No. 1 will be at 6:30 p.m., after which the family will receive friends until 8:30 p.m. Memorials have been established for Grace United Methodist Church and Shriners Crippled Children Hospital in Chicago.

      Mr. Griffin was born on Jan. 1, 1921, in Washington to Lillie (Edwards) and Charles E. Griffin. He married Dolores Adam on Sept. 6, 1950, in Washington. She preceded him in death in 1986. He later married Marilyn Berkshire-Grimes, who also preceded him in death, in 1996.
