Marion L. 'Mooner' Shappell September 23, 1952 - November 8, 2005

Marion L. "Mooner" Shappell, 53 of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 10:54 p.m. at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Visitation will begin after noon on Friday at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Pat Youngquist officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Ducks Unlimited, the Henry County Conservation Center or to the American Heart Association.

      Mr. Shappell was born September 23, 1952, in San Diego, Calif., the son of Charles L. and Eunice M. Soto Shappell.
