Marion Le Roy Patterson, originally from Wellman, IA was called home to the Lord on October 28 at the age of 89. Marion enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from Wellman High in June 1955. During his service in Germany, he met Margot Meckes and they married April 11, 1962. While serving in the Air Force, Marion was stationed at various stateside bases as well as Germany, England, Korea, and Vietnam. After 22 years he retired from the U.S. Air Force, with honors, and settled in North Highlands, CA where he worked for 20 years with Citizen’s Utilities Co. Marion was honored for his 30 years of volunteer service at Trinity Life Center in Sacramento, CA before moving to Mt. Pleasant, IA, a location closer to his hometown. While in Mt. Pleasant, he attended Remnant Church, enjoying his church family. Dad was truly one of God’s servants.

Marion is survived by his sons Heinz Patterson (Deborah) of Glenwood, IA, Eric Patterson (JoAnna) of Creston, IA, Thomas Patterson of Creston, IA and Frank Patterson (Leigh Ann) of Sparks, NV. He left behind 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Marion was a very soft-spoken individual and will be missed. May he rest in peace.
