Marjorie Davisson

KALONA ? Marjorie Frances Davisson, 96, of Kalona, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, in the Pleasantview Home in Kalona.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for Pleasantview Home.

Mrs. Davisson was born May 12, 1920, in rural Wellman, the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Chez) Potsander. She married Donald Wellington Davisson on Oct. 5, 1941, at the Kalona United Methodist Church.

She attended Pleasant Mound, Richmond Public, Walnut, and Snake Hollow schools, and graduated from Kalona High School in 1939. She and her husband lived and farmed in rural Wellman until moving to Riverside in 1960. In 1991 they moved to a cottage at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona. She spent most of her life helping family and friends. She enjoyed baking, canning, gardening and singing.

Surviving are two sons, Vance Davisson of Riverside, and Vaughn Davisson and wife Cheryll of Riverside; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; and one sister, Jessie Pyle.
