Marjorie L. Royer, age 86, of Fairfield, passed away March 6, 2021, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center.

Graveside memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Union Cemetery with Pastor John Kermott officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to June Workman, 513 South 2nd Street, Fairfield, IA 52556.

Marjorie was born December 23, 1934, to Gilbert and Goldie (Smith) Pruden in Fairfield, Iowa.

Marjorie married Tom Royer July 11, 1967, Oquawka, Illinois. He passed away September 1, 1995.

Marjorie was self-employed and had her own business cleaning houses and doing laundry. Some of her interests were playing cards, western movies, forensic file (TV shows), reading romance novels and watching soap operas. When Marjorie was able, she enjoyed working in her garden and flower bed. She was an Iowa Hawkeye Football fan and a Yankees fan. Marjorie and Anna Workman would get together to chat and drink a cherry coke. After Marjorie went to Sunnybrook this friendship continued. She enjoyed playing Bingo and collecting her winnings (usually a stuffed animal).

She will be missed by her children, June (Richard) Workman and Mike (Cheryl) Royer, both of Fairfield, and Karen (Larry) Jones of Nebraska; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Marilyn Glass of Fairfield, Bonnie Dillie of Birmingham and Karen Luke of Fairfield.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Goldie Pruden; husband, Tom Royer; son, Kevin Potter; and brother, Melvin Pruden.
