Marjorie Josephine Curtis Marine, 90, of Fairfield, passed Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at Sunnybrook Assisted Living. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 to
2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Behner Funeral Home. Celebration of Life service will start at 2 p.m. with Pastor Al Coffin officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Nichols Cemetery, Nichols, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to Education Foundation of Fairfield Public Schools or American Heart Association. Cards may be mailed to Jodi Clancy, 1032 Brookmeade Dr., Winston Salem, NC 27106.
Marjorie was born April 12, 1931, in Albion, Ill., to Carlin and Edna (Hallam) Curtis. She married Lyle A Marine on Feb. 21, 1953, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He passed away on Sept. 26, 1997.
Marjorie was a retired teacher for the Fairfield Community School District. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women Ruth Circle. Some of her other clubs were Weakenders Camping Club, Bridge Club, Quilters Club, Red Hots and Fairfield Square Dancers. Marjorie collected dolls, was an avid reader and loved the Hallmark channel.
Marjorie will be missed by her two daughters, Jodi (Edward) Clancy of Winston Salem, N.C., and Kathryn Domke of Germantown, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Lindsey Domke, Jordan Domke and Alex Domke; and two brothers, Dean Curtis of Decatur, Ill., and Bruce Curtis of Castle Pines, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlin and Edna; husband, Lyle Marine; sister, Ronna Cooke; son-in-law, Gary Domke; and companion, Willis Biddle.
