KALONA ? Marjorie Elaine Yoder, 99, of Kalona, died Monday, June 27, 2016, in Pleasantview Home in Kalona.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 1, at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church in Kalona with the Rev. Erling Shultz officiating. Committal and burial of the cremains will follow at the Sharon Center Cemetery. A memorial fund to Hospice or the Sharon Center United Methodist Church has been established. Beatty-Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona is assisting with arrangements.
Mrs. Yoder was born March 6, 1917, at home near Kalona, the daughter of W.L. ?Will? and Faith (Means) Snider. She married Glen Yoder on Feb. 24, 1939, in Dubuque.
She was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church and Eastern Star, and was employed at Sharon Grocery and the Sharon Center Telephone Company in her early years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, traveling in the motor home, and canoe trips with the Yoder family.
Surviving are two sons, Dale Yoder and wife Sandy of Maquoketa, and Dean Yoder of Sharon Center; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and one brother, Donald.
