Mark William Burnstedt, 51, of Fairfield, died June 3, 2020, in Des Moines.
He was born in Fairfield, to Gary and Judy Watson Burnstedt. A 1986 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he was a member of the Madrigal Singers during his senior year. He also was a member of the band "Inkahootz" with his brother and friends. Mark enjoyed music, playing his guitars, and riding his Harley. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, and at one time had a season pass to their games.
Surviving are his parents, Gary and Judy; brother, Todd Burnstedt; four sisters, Deb (Greg) Heckethorn, Teri (Dave) Curran, Cindy (Dan) Reed and Sandra (Chad) Darnielle; two sons, Matthew Burnstedt and Mitchell Burnstedt; and a daughter, Kristin Burnstedt.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his sister-in-law, Deb Burnstedt.
Limited open visitation will be open to friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Reece Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left for the family at

Private funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home, Pastor Chris Childs officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
