Marshal W. Rose, age 90 of Washington, died Thursday November 8, 2018 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington .The son of Wilbert and Alice (Williams) Rose he was born February 2, 1928 at Crawfordsville. He married Billie Jo Anderson in 1957 and they were later divorced. On October 10, 1998 he married Carol Ann Layman who died January 27, 2016. He was a 1946 graduate of the Crawfordsville High School and attended Iowa Success Business School in Ottumwa. He farmed east of Crawfordsville for 36 years retiring in 1992. After retirement, he did various custodial work, including many years at Central Lee Elementary School. He also did some security work around the University of Iowa Hospital. He helped the Ainsworth Coop during their busy season. He was a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville and the Crawfordsville Lions Club.

Survivors include: one son Kevin Lyn Rose (Beth Bennett) of Crawfordsville; one daughter Joi Dellamuth (David) of Williamsburg; one brother Maurice of Ohio: one step granddaughter Lindsey Morgan and several step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

The funeral service was held on Monday November 12, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Crawfordsville, with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Memorials have been established for the United Church of Crawfordsville and Washington County Hospice. Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is in charge of the arrangements.
