Martha Juanita Brown, 94, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Washington, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019, at The Willows in Mount Pleasant.

She was born April 25, 1925, in Washington County, to Howard and Mable Hotle Baker. On Aug. 22, 1946, she married Kenneth Brown in Marion. He died three weeks ago today on Nov. 24, 2019.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker, worked 16 years at Metromail and was a member of the Yarmouth Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, time spent with family, dancing, bingo, camping and spending winters in Texas.

Survivors include four children, Dan (Linda) of North Liberty, Steve of Minneapolis, Minn., Terry (Sonya) of Mount Pleasant and Carol Fairchild of Lewisville, Texas; daughters-in-law, Connie Glasgow of Danville and Mira Dingman of New London; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, David in infancy, Tom and Edwin; four sisters; Lucille Ross, Helen Brown, Dorothy Black and Mary Schooley; and two brothers, Lawrence and Clark Baker.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, New London, with Chaplain Gordon Hawkins officiating. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow the service at Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington, Iowa.
