Martha L. Barnes
KALONA-Martha L. Barnes, 82, of Iowa City, formerly of Kalona and Lone Tree, died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at home, following a brief illness.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, at Kalona United Methodist Church in Kalona, with the Rev. Lynn Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., this evening, at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
Mrs. Barnes was born on Oct. 11, 1921, in Lone Tree, to Frederick and Eleanore (Kintzel) Seering. She married Elmer A. Barnes on Jan. 14, 1939, in Iowa City.
