Marty Alan Johnson, 65, of Washington, died Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at his home. His body has been cremated and a private graveside service at the Elm Grove Cemetery will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Marty was born September 13, 1957, in Washington, IA, the son of John and Phyllis (Hall) Johnson. He graduated from Washington High School in 1975 and served in the U.S. Navy. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Britsch on August 12, 1978, in Washington, they later divorced. He later married Tina Capshaw on May 6, 2010; she preceded him in death in 2012. He later met and married Mary Ellen Reed on October 28, 2016, in Sigourney, IA, she preceded him in death in 2022. He worked at Continental Printing Company in Indiana for many years. He also worked as a Janitor for the Washington County Hospital. He enjoyed cooking on the grill and spending time with family.

Survivors include one daughter; Jessica (Robert) Kimble of Fairfield, IA, two sons: Ryan Johnson of Washington, IA, David (Jamie) Johnson of Camby, IN, two sisters: Julie (Ron) Lube of Omaha, NE, Maria (Bill) Whipps of Ankeny, IA, one brother, Steve Johnson of Iowa City, IA, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Marty in death were his parents, two wives: Tina in August 2012 and Mary Ellen in August of 2022, and brother Kevin in May 2022.
