Mary Ann Newmire
Mary Ann Newmire, 78, of Washington, formerly of Iowa City, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 in her home following a brief illness.
A gathering for family and friends to remember her life will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19 in the Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Following this time, cremation services will be provided with burial at a later date in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Memorials may be made to the Washington County Hospice.
Mrs. Newmire was born March 5, 1928 in Johnson County, the daughter of John E. and Ida (Grimm) Griffith. She married Eugene A. Newmire on Aug. 29, 1949 in Des Moines.
