Mary Bean

Mary Bean, 53, of Wayland, died unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

      A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16 at the Wayland Mennonite Church with Pastor Nancy Renfro officiating. Visitation will begin at noon today at the church, with family present from 5 to 8 p.m. The gift of life to others was given through the donation of her organs and tissue. The body will be cremated after the service and burial will be at a later date. Memorials have been established to the National TTT Camp for Girls, Girl Scouts of America and the Wayland Youth Center. Beatty Funeral Home of Wayland is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Noah, attending Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Jody Bean of Ames, and Amy Bean, attending college at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Fred Jr.; and three sisters, Gloria, Marcella and Clara.
