Mary Christina (Frakes) Barnett, 79, of Fairfield, passed away on August 6, 2021, at her home.

Graveside Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery with words of sharing by her brother, Harold.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Washington County Hospice. Cards and memorials may be mailed to Harold Frakes, 3185 Fir Ave., Brighton, IA 52540.

Mary was born January 9, 1942, in Fairfield, to Joseph A and Viola M. (Tuller) Frakes. Mary married Robert B. Barnett in Sioux City on May 16, 1964. He passed away November 2, 1995.

Mary worked as a factory worker in production. She loved doing family genealogy and puzzles. During football season, Mary would watch the Miami Dolphin and Green Bay Packers games. She collected Elvis Presley memorabilia, enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley songs and watching his movies. Mary was a registered Democratic and was a follower of politics.

Mary will be missed by her daughter, Elizabeth Barnett; three grandchildren, Bobbi Wallace, Stephane Hanen and Coltin McRoy; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Roger Frakes and Harold Frakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Viola; husband, Robert; and brother, Jerry Frakes.
