Mary E. 'Betty' Lathrop February 26, 1923 - February 24, 2004

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Lathrop, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at the New London Care Center.

      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Guy Sammons officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation with family will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27 at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Great River Hospice of Burlington.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Anderson of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Jack and his wife Patty Lathrop of Fairfield; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Manning of Fairfield, and Dorothy Griest of Mt. Pleasant.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Delores Cavin; a son, Mike Lathrop; her parents; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter, Stanley and Jack Lyons; and a sister, Margaret Edwards.
