Mary E. Dowis

      Mary E. Dowis, 76, of Washington, died Friday, July 29, 2005, at Washington Care Center, following a sudden illness.

      Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Linda Foor officiating. Visitation began at noon today at the funeral home, where family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 this evening. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. A memorial has been established for Washington Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

      Mrs. Dowis was born Sept. 16, 1928, in Washington to Roy and Veva (Beenblossom) Randall. She married Richard B. Dowis in Washington on July 3, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1981.
