Mary E. Stevens December 24, 1927 - September 2, 2005

      Mary Elizabeth Stevens, 77, of Winfield, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral was at 1 p.m. today at Kingston United Methodist Church, with Hoyt Griffin and Mary Anderson officiating. Burial was in Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. A memorial has been established.

      Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Beth and her husband Don Briggs of Winfield; four sons, David and his wife Karen Stevens of New London, Paul and his wife Sheila Stevens of Pensacola, Fla., Tom and his wife Mary Stevens of Denver and Mark and his wife Dawn Stevens of New Market, Ala.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilhelmina Terry of Cheshire, Conn.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, a granddaughter and a sister.
