Mary Elisabeth ?Betty? Lance

    Mary Elisabeth ?Betty? Lance, 86, of Washington, died Saturday, July 18, 2009, in Halcyon House in Washington following a brief illness.

    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Julie Poulsen officiating.  Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.  Visitation began at noon today at the funeral home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.  Memorials have been established to the United Methodist Church in Washington or to Hospice of Washington County.

    Mrs. Lance was born Aug. 6, 1922, in West Chester, the daughter of George and Bertha (Guy) Statler.  She married Gilbert Dale Lance on Oct. 14, 1940, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
