A Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Brethren Cemetery in Libertyville, Iowa with Pastor Nate Nims officiating.

Mrs. Nelson was born September 10, 1930, in Batavia, Iowa the daughter of Vernon H. and Esther Workman Glotfelty. She graduated from Fairfield High School and Ottumwa Business School. She married William Lesher Nelson in 1948 in Fairfield. He died July 25, 1992. She lived in Indianapolis, Indiana, for 30 years, employed as a benefits analyst for the Army, before retiring to Venice in 1990. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Venice. She traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad.?

Mary is survived by her daughter Diane Ginthner of Wrightsville Beach NC, a son Dennis of Colorado, a brother Hugh Glotfelty of Victor, IA, and four grandchildren.??

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and a sister.?

She will be remembered for her sweet disposition and gentle sense of humor.
