Mary G. Spangler

Mary G. Spangler, 82, of Houghton, died at 2 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2005, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant, after a long illness.

      The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 14 at St. John's Catholic Church in Houghton, with Father Gary Beckman as Celebrant. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13 at the church, rosary will be recited at 3 p.m., the wake service will be at 6 p.m. and the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's Church or Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant. Link Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Steven and his wife Carol Spangler of Iowa City, and Christopher and his wife Mary Spangler of West Des Moines; and four grandchildren.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David; and a brother, James Bannon Gilbert.
