Mary Hazel Trower Holmes, 100, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020, at the United Presbyterian Home.

Mary was born August 7, 1920, in Corso, Missouri, the daughter of William S. and Marqueritte M. (Parson) Trower. She was united in marriage to Robert G. Holmes on August 23, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mary worked as a nurse for 20 years and was the Director of Nursing at the United Presbyterian Home for many years.

She is survived by her son, Joseph H. Holmes and wife Glenda of Friendsville, TN; sister, Mildred (Millie) Ramsey; brother, Frank Trower; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert L. Holmes; and siblings, Kenneth Trower and J. Joseph Trower.
