Mary Isabelle 'Marybelle' Pumphrey

      Mary Isabelle "Marybelle" Pumphrey, 88, formerly of the Batavia area, died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Vista Woods Care Center.

      A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ottumwa, with the Rev. John Spiegel officiating. Burial will be in Competine Cemetery.

      Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with family visitation from 5-7 p.m. A Christian Wake will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

      Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or the Batavia Library.

      Mrs. Pumphrey was born March 7, 1920, in Ottumwa, the daughter of William C. and Elizabeth Roberts Fabritz. She married Rollo Pumphrey May 28, 1942, in Ottumwa. He died March 22, 1994.
