Mary J. Martin

Mary Jane Martin, 86, of Kingman, Ariz., and formerly of Mt. Pleasant and New London, died Sunday, March 30, at The Gardens Center in Kingman.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Elliott Chapel in New London. Family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. and then will proceed to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery for burial.

A memorial has been established.

She was born May 12, 1921, in West Point, the daughter of Francis and Birdie Hester Smith. She married Thomas Martin on Dec. 8, 1945, in Troy, Kan. A graduate of New London High School, she worked at Sylvania, the Glove Factory in New London, and helped her husband in farming. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Mt. Pleasant, and volunteered at the Henry County Courthouse through RSVP.

She is survived by a daughter, Marcia Lee of Kingman, Ariz.; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
