Mary Jane Lindeen
Mary Jane Lindeen, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of the Swedesburg community, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at her home.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, at the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Borleske officiating. Interment will be in the Swedesburg Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. that evening. Memorials can be made to the Swedesburg Lutheran Church in her memory.
Mrs. Lindeen was born June 19, 1922, in Fairfield, the daughter of Harold and Margaret McGaw Nelson. She married Virgil Lindeen on Feb. 28, 1943, at the Swedesburg Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Church and worked for many years at the P.E.O. Home in Mt. Pleasant. She was also active in the Swedesburg Heritage Museum and the L.C.W. Circle.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Thomas Lindeen of Wapello and Timothy Lindeen of Plymouth, Minn.; three daughters, Connie Sue Butcher of New London, Peggy Aamodt of Mediapolis, and Heidi Clark of Menominee Falls; one brother, Larry Nelson of Hillsboro; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; and an infant granddaughter.
