Mary K. Leedy

KALONA ? Mary Kathryn Leedy, 54, of Kalona, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Celebration of life services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 7, at the Shiloh Church in rural Kalona. Visitation will be from 1 until 4 p.m., Sunday at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be in the Nutmeg Cemetery in rural Kalona. A memorial fund for the family has been established.

Mrs. Leedy was born May 1, 1961, in Washington, the daughter of Rueben and Mamie (Miller) Nisly. She married John Leedy on April 8, 1984, at Shiloh.

She had been a certified nurses assistant at Pleasantview Home before health issues removed her from the work force. She was an active member of Shiloh and enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, reading, and most importantly, her family.

Surviving are her husband, John, of Kalona; three children, Nicholas Leedy of Indianapolis, Indiana, Michael Leedy of Kalona, and Kristina Leedy of Kalona; her mother, of Kalona; four brothers, John of Davenport, Simon, Philip, and James, all of Kalona; and one sister, Miriam Hilton of Vancouver, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her father; and one sister, Sarah Eicher.
