Mary L. Denning

Mary Louise Denning, 86, of Houghton, passed away at 10:20 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2008 at Pleasant Manor Care Center, after a three year battle with ALS, Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Born Jan. 31, 1922, at Houghton, she was the daughter of John and Frances Pohlmeyer Fraise. On October 18, 1948 in San Diego, Calif., she married Alvis F. Denning.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Gerald F. Denning and his wife Gerene of Iowa City; a daughter, Frances Gallagher and her husband Gene of Waukesha, Wis.; two grandsons, C. Mark Denning of Madison, Wis. and John Paul Denning of New York, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Anne Gallagher of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Louis Fraise and his wife Cecilia of Ft. Madison, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Catherine Nuebel, Dorothy Nieters, Edith DeHague, and brothers Robert, Adelbert, and Wilfred.
