Mary L. Pacha

      BRIGHTON - Mary L. Pacha, 88, of Washington, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday in the church where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Prayers for a Christian Wake will begin at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Cemetery for masses to be said at either church or to Halcyon House. Gould Funeral home in Brighton is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mrs. Pacha was born July 20, 1919, in Fort Madison, the daughter of Oscar and Helen (Lubbers) Hoffman. She married Richard P. Pacha on Oct. 7, 1944, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Madison.
