Mary L. Wagamon, 94, of Muscatine, formerly of Washington, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the Lutheran Living Senior Campus in Muscatine. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Following the graveside service a time of fellowship will be held at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. A memorial fund has been established for the Edgington Evangelical Church.
Mary Lois (Gingerich) Wagamon was born December 26, 1929, in Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Nettie Mae (Miller) Gingerich. She attended Brush #8 rural school. On July 28, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lynn “Shorty” Wagamon. She was a member of the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Muscatine and enjoyed reading, cooking, and being with her family. She was an avid Hawkeye football fan and loved wintering in Texas with her husband.
Survivors include two children: Connie Jo (Steve) Moeller of Eyota, MN, Steve (Debra Sue) Wagamon of Illinois City, IL; seven grandchildren: Duane (Kathy), Jason (Courtney), Katy (Andy), Tom (Allie), Andy (Kim), Brian (Misty), and Chris; 10 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister Jeanne (Keith) Wallerich of Keota, IA.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents, her husband Lynn in 1989, four brothers: Rollin, Leo, Clarence, and Wayne Gingerich; and two sisters: Myrtle Rensberger and Hilda Fisher.
