Mary Lois Widmer

      WILLIAMSBURG - Mary Lois Widmer, 81, of Williamsburg, formerly of Olds and Crawfordsville, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 in the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Bethel Mennonite Church near Wayland with the Rev. Phil Slabaugh officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday where the family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Yoder-Powell Funeral home and Cremation Service in Kalona and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Crooked Creek Christian Camp, Mennonite Central Committee, or Williamsburg Library.

      Mrs. Widmer was born July 9, 1927 in rural Johnson County, the daughter of John A. and Katie (Yoder) Swartzendruber. She married Clayton John Widmer on May 29, 1949 in the Lower Deer Creek Church near Kalona.
