MARY SUE (POOS) COCHRAN
Memphis, Mo.

Mary Sue (Poos) Cochran, 61, passed away Jan. 3, 2020, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., with the love of her life, Emmett, and her family by her side.
Born in Fairfield, Iowa, she was the daughter of Henry T. and Mary Eloise Carr Poos. She was raised in Selma, Iowa, and graduated from Cardinal High School in 1977. She married Emmett Cochran on May 7, 1988, at the United Methodist Church in Memphis. The couple shared 32 years of marriage together in Memphis, Mo., where they raised their daughter, Sarah.
Mary worked many years at the Scotland County Care Center before working as a certified medical assistant at Dr. Keller's office. She was currently working at Scotland County Pharmacy, where she worked for the past 16 years. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with her family, she will be remembered for her kind heart and smile.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, a brother-in-law, Lonnie Cochran; and sister-in-law, Marti Cochran.
She is survived by her husband, Emmett; her daughter, Sarah; and son-in-law Toby Steele of Memphis; four granddaughters, Natalie, Lydia, Sandra and Karrah; a sister, Linda (David) Cochran of Memphis; a brother, Randy (Nancy) Poos of Washington, Iowa; sister-in-law: Michalene Cochran, of Memphis; a brother-in-law: Mike (Joy) Cochran of Memphis; Jimmy Cochran, of Hutchinson, Kan.; a sister-in-law, Beth Cochran of California; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the "Wigs of Love" (Michele Garnett Cancer Wig) fund and may be left at or mailed to Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, MO 63555. Funeral services were held Jan. 6 at Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Pastor Jack Sumption officiating. Interment followed in Harness Cemetery in Mount Sterling, Iowa. A luncheon and fellowship were enjoyed by all in the hospitality area at Payne's before the service. It was provided and served by Scotland County Center and Scotland County Pharmacy employees.
Pallbearers were Randy Poos, Toby Steele, Matt McKee, Curtis Cochran, Colt Cochran and Austin Cochran.
