Mary V. Elder

      Mary V. Elder, 95, of Birmingham, died Tuesday evening, May 22, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

      A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, with the Rev. Mike Renken officiating.

      Open visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the shelter fund at Birmingham Central Park.

      Mrs. Elder was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Knoxville, the daughter of Thomas Stephen and Elsie Ermine Smith. She married Floyd McBride in 1932; he died in 1961. She later married Lewis Fay Elder in 1965 in Birmingham. He preceded her in death May 17, 1985.
