Matson W. Cox November 21, 1927 - March 10, 2004

Matson "Matt" W. Cox, 76, of Burlington, died at 11:12 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

      A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 13 at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with the Rev. Trevor Davis officiating. The body has been cremated. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be today from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the chapel, with family present from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Memorials have been established to Grace United Methodist Church and Boy Scout Troop 40.

Survivors include two sons, Darwin M. Cox of Moore, Okla., and Darryl E. Cox of Burlington; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
