Maurine L. Bolick
Maurine L. Bolick, 91, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Mt. Union, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Gulfside Regional Hospice in New Port Richey.
Visitation begins at noon today, Nov. 12, at Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Elliott Chapel with the Rev. Sue Cubbage officiating. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.
Maurine was born Oct. 28, 1916 in Henry County, the daughter of Howard and Esther Bird Lauer. On May 26, 1939, she married Don D. Bolick in Mt. Pleasant.
A graduate of Mt. Union High School, she earned her teaching certificate from Iowa Wesleyan College. She taught school in Yarmouth, Mt. Union and Wyman and was a Sunday School teacher and babysitter. She loved small children and music, and particularly liked the Statler Brothers and Lawrence Welk.
She is survived by a son, Joe Bolick and his wife Linda of New Port Richey; a brother, Vic Lauer and his wife Carol of Mt. Union; two grandchildren and a neice.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
