Maurtia L. Stout

      Maurtia L. Stout, 87, of Washington, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating and the Rev. Herbert Gould and the Rev. Royal Speidel co-officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. The family will also receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. Friday in the main dining room of the United Presbyterian Home. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

      Mrs. Stout was born July 10, 1919, in Kirksville, Mo., to Delbert and Mary (Hunter) Darnel. She married Donald Everet Stout on Sept. 28, 1940, in Washington. He preceded her in death in 1999.
