Max Burchard
Max Burchard, 80, of Macomb, Ill., died December 14, 2005.
A reception honoring Dr. Burchard will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb.
Dr. Burchard served in the Naval Airforce during WWII, after which he pursued an academic career in sociology.
For 22 years Dr. Burchard served as professor of Sociology at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant. After retirement from Iowa Wesleyan College, he taught for two years in the overseas military extension program of the University of Maryland in Korea and Japan.
