Max D. Hill April 18, 1920 - January 5, 2004

Max D. Hill, 83, of Washington died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004 at the Washington County Hospital in Washington.

      Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9 at the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Hoyt Whitebread officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 p.m. A memorial has been established to the First Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.

      Mr. Hill was born April 18, 1920 near Trenton, the son of John W. and Bertha Christner Hill. He attended school at Star School near Trenton. On Feb. 28, 1942 he married Mildred Graf at Kahoka, Mo.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Walter and his wife Bonnie Hill of Birmingham, Larry and his wife Norma Hill of Fairfield and Keith and his wife Diana Hill of Brighton; one daughter Donna and her husband Kenneth Greiner of Brighton; three brothers, Jacob and his wife Cleta Hill of Baldwin Park, Calif., Kenneth and his wife Mildred Hill of Danville and Stan Hill and his wife Tina of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Leola Whitney of Placerville, Calif, Florence and her husband Merlin Wesely of Mt. Pleasant and Melva and her husband Jerry Sammons of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren

      He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lester and Carl, sister Mina Crile and two great-grandsons.
