Max Willhoit

      Max Willhoit, 90, formerly of Batavia, died at 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

      A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie, with the Rev. Dave Nolte officiating. Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery.

      Visitation began at 10 a.m. today at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the family present from 5-8 p.m.

      In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Batavia Lions Club, Prairie View United Methodist Church, American Society for Autism or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

      Mr. Willhoit was born Sept. 1, 1918, in Moulton, the son of Glenn and Fannie Irene Davis Willhoit. He married Vera Bentley April 13, 1941, in Ames.
